Burn It to the Ground

November 1, 2011

ChicagoWiz is splitting the scene and he’s torn about how to make his exit. My advice? Burn that shit down, bro.

It’s what you want to do, but you’re having trouble pulling the trigger. Don’t get caught up in what everyone else wants. They come at you with smiles and hugs and fraternal sentiments, but really what it amounts to is that everyone’s mad and greedy and they don’t want something taken away that they think belongs to them. But it doesn’t belong to them and you don’t owe them anything so it’s your call to make. It seems pretty obvious you’re ready to press the big red button, so I say go for it and laugh while you do it.

Warm your hands by the flames, toast marshmallows, get freaky with P-Dub in the romantic firelight. Don’t leave behind some half-ass corpse with a eulogy tacked onto it, for the vultures to pick at. The people who actually valued the things on your blog have already taken what they need, and everyone else — fuck ’em, they missed the party.

give me a fucking break. Why do these clowns have to give a heart felt speech about should I go or not? Please… don’t ever leave me Edward… ugh. Puke. Spit. Its like that 12 year old emo girl who writes that long big note, that she puts out in plain sight for people to see… but will never do the suicide.. Ass Clowns

BTW, did you save that note?

      • November 2, 2011 10:40 am

Yeah. I left it in your mom’s purse, because she told me on the phone she couldn’t stand that she let you out of her womb.

Tell me about it! After five years it was getting cramped in there.

I used to think ChigWiz dressed like that because he was a biker or something but it’s clear now that picture was taken on Burly Bear Night down at the Man Hole Bar.

Or maybe it was Leather Night at the Ram Rod?

Isn’t this the third or fourth time he’s left for good?

Some of these folks cry more than Morrisey. If you desperately need attention cause other OSR circle jerkers are getting more love, write a fucking retro clone and call it Acclimating Doom & Destruction or Another Dragon & Dungeon then desperately scream how you’ve created something original and then demand your peers buy the fucking thing at $85 and how you’re raising the price to $650 after the first thirty minutes of its release. Then cry and gnash your teeth when people point out all you did was change halfings to quarterlings or some shit and introduced a new race called quarter orc half ogre one third vampire or something equally lame. Surely then you can roll around in the shit pit with the other talentless hacks that are shooting their load up Gygax’s ass as they try to eek out a profit from some one else’s hard work.

    MOAR RETROclones!

Or are they now calling them retro-remastered games?
Retro-this is MY version wholly different from OD&D?
    Mechanically reengineered retro games?

    Whatever, it’s bullshit regardless.

Best thing this guy could do is to just quit and get 90% of the other OSR circle jerk to quit with him.

But this is REALLY the time he leaves for good….until next time….when he will REALLY leave for good.

Burn It To The Ground is a great palate cleanser, as well as good advice. When I got my sixth divorce, I celebrated by burning down the house I had worked hard for, just so the bitch didn’t get anything. Now, is it my fault the bitch was still inside banging my best friend? I might have shared too much, sorry, but the prison therapist says it’s a good way to start the “healing process” (as well as keeping me on parole). The bitch.

I didn’t realize he was still around anyhow.

That’s why he had to quit. Again.
Just shower him with praise and a face full of sheeple jizz and he’ll be back.

The whole I’mleaving-nowI’mback-goodbye-himeagain-goneandImeanitthistime shtick is a bit silly, but I’ll miss chgowiz. He actually had some good ideas, could laugh at himself, and contributed real stuff for non-egotistical reasons.

Finally, someone I can agree with.

I’d never heard of the bloke before reading this, and now I feel like I’ve missed something halfway decent. Archive panic time, I suppose…
